dedicated to wildlife conservation

Poaching in the national parks remains a major conservation challenge in

Mozambique.

About 30 elephants get slaughtered every year and hundreds of animals follow the same fate due to snaring and poisoning of carcasses. A new trend has developed where poached elephants are cut up and the meat laced with poison to attract predators and birds of prey. Resulting in the killing of hundreds of animals feasting on these poisoned carcasses. The effects of these methods are clearly visible as lion and vulture numbers have drastically reduced in the area.

Our on going counter poaching efforts have saved hundreds of animals is the past few years, but poaching is still rampant in the area and we are currently in dire need of expanding our anti poaching effort.

Some of our rangers protecting the reserve

The cost to keep one ranger on patrol, adds up to about USD 200 per month. This amount covers his wage, rations, basic equipment costs and transport.  To train and equip a new scout is more than 3 times this amount, but is vital in ensuring that our precious animals remain safe.

Your donation can help ensuring the success of our honorable rangers protecting the Limpopo Transfrontier area and national park's borders in order to create a safe haven for our critically endangered animals.

All that's left! A ranger holding the sole of a poached bull.

Our goal is to train and deploy 50 new rangers within the next 2 years which can only be achieved by means of charitable donations.

Currently 20 rangers patrol an area of about 50 square kilometres and even

though our rangers are devoted to their work, it is an impossible task to be

everywhere at all times. A patrol averages 20 kilometers per day on foot, checking roads and dried pans for tracks and signs of poaching activity. These men have dedicated their lives to protecting the animals that call this area home but they do require assistance.
